The Supreme Court will begin hearing oral arguments regarding the constitutionality of Arizona's anti-immgration law, SB 1070. The court's ruling - expected in June - could determine whether the U.S. will have one immigration policy or fifty. This will be a make-or-break moment for the immigrant rights movement. The Jewish community - and YOU - can be a part of it!
Please join HIAS for an evening of teachings, prayers, songs, poems, and discussions about why the Jewish community cares about immigration. The event will be held right in front of the Supreme Court (or in the United Methodist Building in case of rain), both are about a 5-minute walk from Union Station.
This event is being held in conjunction with the Interfaith Immigration Coalition's (IIC) 48-hour prayer vigil at the Supreme Court and a virtual vigil for people around the country to light a candle for justice - more information at www.vigilforjustice.org
